Our Favourite Lightweight Raincoats - Styled!

Our Favourite Lightweight Raincoats - Styled! - Lighthouse

Before the stretch of blissfully good weather inevitably gives way to the Summer rainy season, we thought we would introduce a couple of our favourite jackets from the Lighthouse Spring/Summer ’18 range. Now’s a good time to get searching for your Summer style essentials before the kids get off school and your hands are full shopping for everyone but you!

Here’s what Lighthouse designer, Ashleigh, recommends.

Lighthouse Bowline Waterproof Jacket Styled

The Lighthouse Bowline Jacket in rose pink is the perfect addition to any outfit in need of a focus piece. The dusky, feminine colour sits softly against these navy chino shorts from Next, yet draws attention to the playful, multicoloured stripe of the Lighthouse Causeway top. We love how the Bowline pulls out the pink of this colourful Causeway. Not only that, but the blue of the Causeway compliments the Oxford striped blue of the Bowline’s hood lining and edge detailing. It’s all about keeping it consistently pastel this season.

Bowline also comes in Dandelion yellow and Midnight navy, so if you prefer something a bit more bold, or a little less girly, we have you covered. All are fully waterproof resistant and windproof, meaning you won’t need to worry if it’ll hold up when the weather takes a turn. Designed for both style and practicality, Bowline falls past the hips and finishes with a simple curved hem. It fastens by antique brass zip and buttons for extra protection from the elements, boasts two large patch pockets, and has a fully adjustable hood so you can fix it to your preferred level of snug.

We’ve teamed this look with some Office Sandals in a soft grey and some Topshop sunglasses. With this look you’re prepped for both sun and showers.

Lighthouse Paige Lightweight Raincoat Styled.

If you’re after something more akin to a heavy Winter parka, without all the extra heat, try the Lighthouse Paige Lightweight 3/4 length Raincoat. This lovely green is Pistachio, but Lighthouse also offers a classic Midnight navy and a punchy Blue Sail. Paige is cotton rich all over, meaning it’s soft to the touch, and on the skin, from the inside out. Wear it roomy, with the potential for layering, or tailor Paige to your waist with the adjustable drawcord. The hood and sleeve widths are adjustable on Paige too.

Like Bowline, Paige is fully waterproof and windproof, and offers the extra comfort of breathability.  We’ve paired it with some mid-wash denim jeans from Next - straight leg for prioritising comfort, of course. Add a simple Breton top from our Causeway collection to the look - here pictured in Cloud/Midnight Stipe - and you’re effortlessly and classily styled for a coastal day out or a trip to the high street.

Team with some tan sandals like these Salt Water originals, and stow your Topshop sunnies in the coat’s large patch pockets. We think this look is great for a cooler Summer day, whatever the activity.

We hope your Summer is full of adventure, come rain or shine.

Get prepared by investing in a Lighthouse jacket that will last through this season and beyond!
