My winter saviour!

I was determined not to face another rugby season getting completely soaked through on the side of a pitch. This coat is perfect!..long enough to go over my boots. Light enough to just throw on without all the hassle of waterproof trousers etc . It keeps the wind and all of the rain out. 😁👍

Great coat for wind and/or rain, but be gentle with the hood laces!

Up until recently, this coat only ever encountered wind or rain--one at a time, that is. In those trials, it performed really well-- no wind chill and dry as a bone (at least from the outside-- see my note at the end if you run hot). However, I recently encountered a storm in which there was quite a significant amount of rain and strong winds. Since I was walking upwind, I went to tighten the opening with the cords on either side, at which point I heard a ripping sound. Upon inspection, I came to discover that the very edge of a section of the hood had ripped along the cinching cord's little channel. Obviously I'm biased, but I really don't think I pulled very hard, so this is a little concerning. It's probably fixable to be entirely honest, I'm just not confident enough in my mending abilities to approach such a heavy fabric. That being said, since the coat is modular, I can probably just purchase a new hood to snap on without having to replace the garment entirely. The question is whether or not I'll ever get around to it 💀

I really appreciate the little details here and there that clearly demonstrate that real thought and care was put into the garment's design and construction. Take for example the slit at the back, which has two velcro patches that allow for the wearer to choose between coverage and mobility/breathability. Along similar lines, the fact that it has both buttons and a zip at the front allows me to alter how I wear the coat according to whatever I need on…
